POKHARA, Jan 31: The board meeting of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has started in Pokhara on Tuesday. As soon as the board meeting started, the disgruntled faction demanded the resignation of the work execution committee citing the players’ involvement in spot fixing in the Nepal T-20 League.

Before the start of the board meeting, the disgruntled side had submitted a memorandum to CAN President Chatur Bahadur Chand demanding his resignation. While submitting the memorandum, Chhumbi Lama, a CAN member of the disgruntled faction, asked the work execution committee to resign for its irresponsible decisions.

"CAN president has admitted mistake in the Nepal T-20 League," Lama said, “When the CAN leadership has already admitted the mistake, the work execution committee along with the president should resign and pave the way for a new leadership. That is our demand.”

The dissatisfied side has sought resignation of President Chatur Bahadur Chand, Acting Secretary Prashant Bikram Malla, Treasurer Roshan Singh, and members Durga Raj Pathak and Padak Khadka who are in the work execution committee. Lama said that the memorandum has also sought resignation of three members of the governing Council, which was formed for the operation of the Nepal T-20 League.

The main agenda of the board meeting was the return of suspended captain Sandeep Lamichhane back in the Nepali team. However, the agenda of Lamichhane and other issues could not be discussed due to the demand for the resignation.
