DOLPA, Nov 19: With the completion of the Jajarkot-Dolpa road section, preparation for the official inauguration of the vital road linking the capital of the largest district of the country has reached its final stage. The program is scheduled for Tuesday.

Dolpa residents and Nepal Army (NA) are working jointly to make necessary preparations for the inauguration, informed Jajarkot-Dolpa Road Construction Taskforce. The venue is nearby the premise of Triwala Tripurasundari Bhagwati Temple in Tripurasundari Municipality-1.

NA had started construction of the track from the fiscal year 2009/10. Construction of the 104 km road section started from Pasagadh of Jajarkot all the way to Tripurasundari-3. The road links Dolpa's headquarters Dunai with the national road network.

The locals are elated after the completion of the road as the remote district had been neglected for a long time. Their dream of being connected to the road network has finally been fulfilled.

“We are keenly awaiting the inauguration ceremony as we'll finally get to see vehicles plying our roads,” said Nayansi Kathayat, a local of Tripurasundari-1.

The construction task force is only left with the finishing touch and making the road wider, informed the taskforce's Chief Bishwa Bandhu Pahadi.

Nevertheless, the road section still needs five motorable bridges and another five small ones over the Bheri River before the people of Dolpa experience a smooth ride along the road.
