Door to door health insurance facility in Myagdi

MYAGDI, Jan 13: A campaign has been launched to provide health insurance facility to each household in the district. 


The program has been made effective in Beni Municipality including 35 VDCs in the district.

The District Health Office and Social Health Security Development Committee Myagdi have jointly organized the insurance policy distribution program for the purpose and locals were found attracted to the program. 


As many as 43 employees were trained and sent to the villages to register the insurance program as the office for the same was fixed at District Hospital and Darbang Primary Health Centre. 


The district hospital medical superintendent Dr Roshan Neupane shared that they were working out to make the program effective as the government was introducing various programs in the health sector. 


Under the program, each family having up to five members has to pay Rs 2,500 annually and the family with over five members should pay Rs 425 per member annually. 


The program was first introduced in fiscal year 2070/71 BS in Kailali, Baglung and Ilam and in 22 additional districts including Myagdi in the second phase. RSS
