DPM Mahara off to China on six-day trip

KATHMANDU, Sept 6: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, left here today for Beijing, Chine, leading a four-member delegation on a six-day official visit at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.

KATHMANDU, Sept 6: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, left here today for Beijing, Chine, leading a four-member delegation on a six-day official visit at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi. 


A team comprising Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shanker Das Bairagi and senior officers, and Chinese Ambassador for Nepal Yu Hong reached Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to see off the delegation which also includes Foreign Ministry's North-east Asia division chief Ganesh Dhakal and Nepali Ambassador for China, Leelamani Poudyal.

During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister will hold a meeting with the Chinese Foreign Minister and his delegation, with Chinese senior leaders and attend a discussion programme to be held at the Beijing-based China Foreign Affairs University. Senior officials of the foreign affairs ministries of both countries and Beijing-based Nepalese Embassy will be present in the bilateral meetings. 


The Deputy Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the Nepal's Consulate General's office established in Guangzhou, address a gathering of business community there and meet provincial leaders. He is returning home on September 11. RSS
