Drowning in air

Lying beside my ruins conceived through grave storm

Blowing away all safe spaces; making me cold

And it wasn’t just material things that swirled with the wind,

It was much more; sweeping away places inside hearts of people

Leaving my bluebird so frightened; it flew; you ponder?

No, she is not scared of storms but of those who devised it;

Monsters are not to feared for they appear in nightmares,

We’re afraid of those who come dressed up like dream;

Taking kindness for weakness;

How does it feel to be used? She always asked.

But it doesn’t make me forget my kindness; I smiled.

Though I own nothing but ruins and I wish nothing in return

I can be at peace knowing I have nothing to lose; powerful indeed.

My bluebird has flown away now

And it’s been a while struggling to breathe

But I’ll still be me.
