EC holds meeting with political parties

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Thirty-one political parties representing in the Legislature-Parliament have suggested the Election Commission for the registrations of new political parties only keen to take part in the election.

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Thirty-one political parties representing in the Legislature-Parliament have suggested the Election Commission for the registrations of new political parties only keen to take part in the election. 


In a meeting summoned by the EC to discuss with the political parties about the constitutional provisions regarding political parties, the EC was suggested for updating the names of those political parties already participated in the election.

CPN (UML) central member Rajendra Pandey said during the meeting they briefed the EC about the provisions about the political parties in the constitution. 


Senior leaders of 31 political parties Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (ML) were present in the meeting. 


On the occasion, Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav vowed to follow the suggestions given by political parties during the meeting. 


However, media were not allowed to collect audio clips and take photos of the meeting, terming it 'confidential'. RSS
