Surya Prasad Sharma, the spokesperson of the EC, said out of the total 110 parties registered, only 86 parties have furnished their financial details. "The remaining 24 parties have not submitted the details of income and expenditure so the commission will take action against them," said Sharma.

According to election law, all the parties registered with the EC should submit their income and expenditure details within six months after the expiry of the fiscal year.

Spokesperson Sharma said the commission will decide the nature of the action to be taken against the parties after holding its board meeting. "Legally, the commission can take various actions against the political parties ranging from scrapping the registration to imposing a fine of Rs 100 for not submitting the details. The decision will be made after the board meeting," said Sharma.
