KHOTANG, Jan 25: A body of around eight-year-old girl has been found dead on the bank of Chimni rivulet in the district.
The deceased has been identified as Lumani Rai of Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-10. Rai had gone missing on Wednesday afternoon.

"We had carried out a search after being reported about the sudden disappearance of the girl," said DSP Lokdarshan Thapa of District Police Office, Khotang.
Police have arrested 16-year-old Kishor Jinudhan Rai under suspicion of the girl's murder. Evern though Jiudhan admitted to have killed the girl, the reason behind her killing is yet to come out.
It is suspected that he must have killed the girl after rape to hide the evidence, said Thapa.
