Ex-Maoist combatant barred from flying to Bangkok (with video)

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Former Maoist combatant Lenin Bista has been barred from boarding a RA401 flight bound for Bangkok on Friday.

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Former Maoist combatant Lenin Bista has been barred from boarding a RA-401 flight bound for Bangkok on Friday.


Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) immigration department canceled Bista’s departure at the eleventh hour citing an order from the Home Ministry.

Bista, originally from Kavre, was flying to Bangkok to attend a program titled ‘Youth in Conflict: Healing and Peace Building through Social Engagement’ organized by Asian Resource Foundation.
