KATHMANDU, May 7 :Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) Chairman Upendra Yadav has taken strong exception to what he calls “unfounded reports” of his removal from the Federal Alliance.
On Saturday, the Federal Alliance had issued a statement announcing removal of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) leader Upendra Yadav. The statement accused Yadav of acting against the decision of the agitating parties’ bloc. It has further accused Yadav and his party of betraying the ongoing struggle of Madhesi, Janajati and other communities by joining the first phase of the local elections.
The announcement was seen as a significant development as the FA, a loose alliance of fringe Janajati and Madhesi parties, was Yadav’s brainchild.
Talks should be held with Federal Alliance: Yadav
Issuing a statement on Sunday, Yadav accused Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) of not following due procedures while expelling him as the leader of the agitating Madhesi and Janajati parties’ bloc. RJPN is one of the constituents of the Federal Alliance. Yadav claimed that rival Madhesi leaders had unilaterally issued the statement without informing key allies in the alliance.
“The reports [of Yadav’s removal] published in the media are baseless. It’s a decision of some individual leaders, not the official decision of the Federal Alliance,” Yadav said in a statement. Yadav has claim he is still the leader of the federal alliance.
In the statement, Yadav has stated that several parties in the alliance including its spokesperson Om Gurung were kept in the dark about the decision.
Yadav has categorically accused RJPN leader Mahantha Thakur of resorting to lies and deceits. He has further accused rival Madhesi parties of betraying the struggle of the Madhesi, Janajati, Muslim, Dalit and other marginalized groups.
The statement has also urged the common people and party cadres not to believe the lies being promoted by some parties to defame his party and its works.
Yadav also defended his party’s decision to take part in the local polls saying that the move would further embolden, not weaken, the Madhes movement and political struggles of other agitating communities.
“The Federal Socialist Party Nepal is a party actively struggling for the emancipation of the oppressed class, caste and communities. It will never surrender or betray the oppressed communities,” said Yadav.
