Finland ranked happiest country in world, Nepal on top in South Asia

KATHMANDU, March 19: The 10th edition of the World Happiness Report released on Friday has listed Finland as the happiest country this year as well. The Nordic country has been on the top list of happiest nations for five consecutive years.

KATHMANDU, March 19: The 10th edition of the World Happiness Report released on Friday has listed Finland as the happiest country this year as well. The Nordic country has been on the top list of happiest nations for five consecutive years.


Nepal is ranked 85th among South Asian countries while India is ranked 136th. Similarly, Bangladesh is ranked 99th and Pakistan 103rd in the list of happiest countries in South Asia. As per the report, China is ranked 82nd, which is three places above Nepal.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan has been listed as the saddest country in South Asia in the report. The list of happiest countries include Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, Netherland, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Israel, New Zealand and Austria, according to the report.
