KATHMANDU, March 29: Nepal Civil Aviation Authority(NCAA) has conducted an emergency simulation by setting fire to the Biratnagar Airport(BA) in a risk-free manner on Wednesday.
The flights had come to a halt for two hours after smoke billowed in the air over the airport. The emergency simulation is intended to teach the concerned security personnel and Airport staffs about how to respond wisely to a situation in which the airplane crashes at a time it is taking off or landing.
Biratnagar development projects in limbo
The emergency simulation is conducted by NCAA every two years with a view to teaching the concerned persons the best possible way to respond to an emergency situation that may take place unexpectedly.
Two fire engines and five ambulances were used to douse the fire.
