First COVID-19 patient to receive Plasma Therapy at BPKIHS dies

DHARAN, Aug 24: The first COVID-19 patient,  who received plasma therapy at BP Koirala Institute of Health Science in Dharan, succumbed to COVID-19.

DHARAN, Aug 24: The first COVID-19 patient,  who received plasma therapy at BP Koirala Institute of Health Science in Dharan, succumbed to COVID-19.


A 68-year old man from Dharan Municipality died of COVID-19 infection on Sunday evening even as he had received the plasma therapy treatment on August 17, according to the BPKIHS.

The deceased person was admitted to the hospital on August 14 after he was tested positive for the COVID-19 a day before. The old man is also reported to be a patient of high blood pressure and diabetes, according to spokesperson of the BPKIHS Dr Nidesh Sapkota.


With this, three people have died of COVID-19 so far in Dharan. Two of them had received plasma therapy.
