KATHMANDU, June 6: The first meeting of the Legislature-Parliament has come to an end with the tirade exchanged between outgoing Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and opposition CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.

Speaking in the parliament on Tuesday, PM Dahal said that he played crucial a role in maintaining social harmony in the country, giving continuity to national pride projects and improving ties with the two neighboring countries during his ten-month long stint.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that it would be wise to strike a deal on the constitutional differences before the second phase of local level elections.

Likewise, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the NC can never compromise with the democracy, national independence and freedom.

Answering the question raised by UML Chairman KP Sharman Oli, Deuba said that Postal Highway had been initiated by NC late leader Girija Prasad Koirala.

He also loaded the outgoing Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal for conducting first phase of local level elections despite difficult circumstances.

Similarly, Oli said that the leaders should move ahead by forging consensus on fundamental issues.

During his one-and-a-half-hour long speech, he lashed out at the government of orchestrating tearing ballot papers after CPN Maoist Center's candidate Renu Dahal was likely to lose elections, terming it ‘undemocratic’ and against the spirit of the constitution.

Meanwhile, Oli also accused the ruling alliance of spreading rumor that CPN-UML is anti Madhes.
