JANAKPURDHAM, Jan 21: The oath taking ceremony of the members of the provincial assembly of province no. 2 concluded here on Sunday. 


Chief of the Province Ratneswar Lal Kayastha administered the oath of office and secrecy to eldest PA member Lagan Lal Chaudhary,76, at a programme held at the meeting hall of the Janakpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In turn, Chaudhary administered the oath of office and secrecy to his fellow parliamentarians. 


The members of parliament took the oath of office and secrecy in their respective mother tongue. The Chief of the Province had to intervene after the members protested against the directive to receive the oath in writing in Nepali language, though they could recite it in their respective mother tongue. 


Following the intervention, they had the oath written in their respective mother tongue and recited in the same language. 


On the occasion, Chief of the Province Kayastha emphasized on the need to determine the concept to make the province prosperous from the first session of the assembly. Members of House of Representatives, high court judges, regional security chiefs and other personalities were present at the function. 


Meanwhile, the first session of the province no. 2 provincial assembly has been set for coming February 4. The session will begin at 11:00 am at the meeting hall of the Educational Training Centre in Janakpurdham.
