KATHMANDU, Oct 20: The Floriculture Association Nepal has decided to organize a competitive chrysanthemum (godawari) flower exhibition in Jawalakhel from October 26.
The exhibition is being organized on the occasion of the Deepawali and Chhath festivals.
Association Chairman Kumar Kasajoo Shrestha informed that the three-day fair was being held with the aim of developing floriculture in the country.

"Such activity will help commercialize floriculture with the production of various species of flowers. It would finally contribute to income generation and employments, said General Secretary of the organizing committee, Min Bahadur Tamang. He expressed confidence that the exhibition would be visited by more number of people and buyers as compared to the past years.
Commercial farming of flowers has spread to some 39 districts across the country. More than 41, 000 people have got employment with the floriculture.
Tihar, the second biggest festival of Nepali Hindus, is also the festival of flowers. RSS
