KATHMANDU, August 13: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) have set up separate funds to provide relief to the flood and landslide victims in different districts.
The FNCCI on Sunday announced to provide assistance worth Rs 10 million in coordination with its members and other organizations to the flood victims.
Separately, the Association of Pharmaceutical Producers of Nepal announced to provide medicines worth Rs 5 million. Likewise, Bagmati Clean Campaign has pledged Rs 1 million and various other different organizations have announced to provide Rs 1 million to the FNCCI for extending support to flood victims.
FNCCI sends relief to seven districts
According to a press statement issued by FNCCI, Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs' Forum provided Rs 1.5 million in cash and Shankar Group donated various goods worth Rs 500,000 to FNCCI.
While urging all its members to contribute to the cause of flood victims, FNCCI has asked all to deposit their contribution in an account (FNCCI relief account) at Bank of Kathmandu (012500000635).
Meanwhile, the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) on Sunday set up an emergency relief fund to support the flood-affected people.
An emergency meeting of NRNA International Coordination Council announced to set up the fund, while expressing its readiness to provide all kinds of supports to the flood victims.
Separately, NRNA President Shesh Ghale and his wife Jamuna Ghale announced to contribute Rs 10 million to the relief fund. Ghale said that they will meet the flood victims soon with the relief materials.
Likewise, Buddha Air has announced to donate Rs 2.5 million to support the flood victims. The amount will be utilized to distribute medicines and food to the flood-affected people in Morang and Sunsari as part of its corporate social responsibility, according to a press statement issued by the company.
