Foodmandu: Quenching the foodie in you!

KATHMANDU, March 8: Anna Khadka of Bhaispati loves the cheese cake from Dhokaima Café in Patandhoka. But she hates travelling all the way there in the heavy traffic. She does not have time to get stuck in traffic for hours and get showered by dust. She rather not eat her favorite cake. She wished someone could deliver the cheese cake to her doorsteps, and she would have it daily.

And one day she came across the app which fulfilled her wish. Foodmandu was launched in 2010 to help people fulfill their daily cravings. Foodmandu is a trending food app which helps you order food from over 130 restaurants around the city.

This app not only receives the order but delivers it to you within 45 minutes, saving time from all the hassle that one would have to go through if one had to go to a restaurant. The food delivered to the customer doesn’t even lose its heat because it’s delivered in a special thermal bag by Foodmandu.

Once the user places an order in the app, Foodmandu places the order to the restaurant and the delivery person who is near the location is assigned to pick up the food, hence decreasing the delivery time.

Foodmandu not only lets its users order food from restaurants, it even provides choices to order bakery items, liquor, vegetables from food market and even pasteurized milk from Milkmandu. The features of the app are designed to cater the users’ need and changes almost every two weeks for efficient service.

The app’s new version will include smart search engine, allowing users to search by food name, restaurant or location, making it easy for users to find their favorites. Users don’t have to scroll down to get to their favorite dish, they will now simply be able to swipe the categories and select the dish of their choice. The new version of the app will also have separate categories on the basis of restaurants and vendors. Foodmandu aims to please its customer so the new version will also allow its customer to give immediate feedback to express their opinion on the service.
