LAMJUNG, July 24: At least four people have been killed in the flood in Dordi River of Lamjung due to incessant rain on Wednesday. The flood has left huge damage in the infrastructure of the hydropower project.
The flood hit the area at around 3 pm on Wednesday afternoon at Dhodeni area in Dodi rural municipality -6 of the district. The bodies of two people were found near Sher Bazar and rest two were found at Kirtipur area, according to Om Bahadur Gurung, chief of Dordi rural municipality. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained. However, they might be the employees of the hydropower project, according to Gurung.

Similarly, 20 employees of the project are reported to be out of contact. A team of security personnel have already been deployed to the incident site for the rescue and relief operation, informed CDO Dr Dijan Bhattarai. It is still unknown the total loss of the property due to the flood. According to the locals, the flood has also damaged the infrastructure of Liberty hydro project including dozer, tractors used for the construction of the project.
