TULSIPUR (Dang), Dec 24: The Dang Police on Friday arrested a fugitive who had been on the run for the past 16 years after being convicted in a case of robbery.
Prakash Chaudhary, 36, of Pachahawa in Gobardiha – 5 was sentenced to 9 years in prison and slapped a fine of Rs 990,072 by the Dang Deukhuri District Court for robbing the house of Dhaneshwor Aryal of Gobardiha VDC – 5 on June 16, 2000.
Chaudhary was arrested from his house as part of a campaign launched to nab the fugitives, and control smuggling, intimidation and extortion, according to Dang's police chief, Dhiraj Pratap Singh.
Meanwhile, a person accused in a rape case was arrested after more than four years. Suman Kumal of Jaluke – 6 of Arghakanchi ran away after raping a teenage girl on July 10, 2012.
He was arrested from Chisapani at Juraini of Gobardiha – 9 by a special police team deputed from the Area Police Office, Bhaluwang. RSS
