KATHMANDU, July 17: Although five years have elapsed since Gangamaya Adhikari began staging fast-unto-death for justice, she is still unfazed and chasing the hope.
On the 18th International Criminal Justice Day, Adhikari reiterated her commitment from the Cabin No 7 of the Bir Hospital in the capital city to continue with her protest until the murderer of her son was brought to book.
Ever since the CPN (Maoist) abducted the youngest son of the Adhikari couple, Krisha Prasad Adhikari, and murdered him on June 6, 2004, Nanda Prasad Adhikari and Gangamaya had jointly staged hunger strike.

Nanda Prasad however passed away in the 333rd day of the protest.
Gangamaya thereafter has been continuing the solitary quest for justice since then.
The final rites of Nanda Prasad have not been performed in refusal of Gangamaya for the same unless the culprits are brought to book.
She bemoaned, "My offspring and spouse were snatched away from me. The Maoists killed my son, the Congress killed my husband." "I will not budge an inch from my determination until I am catered the justice."
"Either I will call it quits to my protest upon justice delivery or I will die here in the Hospital," the elderly widow added.
The office of the district attorney in Chitwan had registered a case against 13 suspects involved in the murder of Krisha Prasad but due to the UCPN (Maoist) menace and interference following the arrest of alleged Bhimsen Poudel and Parshuram Poudel, the duos were later released on bail.
Ganga maya, despite wallowing in the loss of her son and spouse, seems undeterred on her relentless quest for justice. She believes that justice will prevail eventually. RSS
