KATHMANDU, Oct 19: The price of gold has set a new record in the Nepali market on Thursday, surging to an all-time high.
Previously, on August 20, gold achieved its highest trading price ever at Rs 113,600 per tola. However, today's gold price has reached Rs 113,700 per tola, surpassing the previous record by Rs 100.
Gold price soars to a record high of Rs 87,400 per tola
This latest increase follows a notable surge in gold prices of Rs 1,300 per tola on the preceding day, Wednesday. Today's gold prices have risen by Rs 500 per tola compared to the previous day.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Associations, fine gold is currently trading at Rs 113,700, and standard gold at Rs 113,150 per tola. In contrast, the prices on Wednesday stood at Rs 113,200 per tola for fine gold and Rs 112,650 per tola for standard gold.
Conversely, the price of silver on Thursday has seen a decrease when compared to the previous day, with a value of Rs 1,395 per tola. In contrast, silver was trading at Rs 1,410 per tola on Wednesday, reflecting a decrease of 15 rupees per tola.
In the international market, gold is currently trading at 1,949 US dollars per ounce.
