KATHMANDU, March 18: Kiran Shoes Manufacturers, the producer of Gold Star shoes, has joined hands with Sagarmatha Cement Dhangdahi Premier League (DPL) cricket tournament as its co-sponsor. The city-based auction tournament is scheduled to be held in Dhangadhi from April 9 to 22.
Kiran Shoes’ Director Vidushi Rana and Subash Shahi, the president of Dhangadhi Cricket Academy, the organizer of the tournament, signed the co-sponsorship agreement. As per the deal, Kiran Shoes will provide Rs 500,000 to run the tournament and the Gold Star shoes will be the official footwear partner.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Rana said that the company was happy to be associated with sports event. “Gold Star is a popular brand of shoes in the country.
Gold Star has made its name in the rural areas as well. We decided to get associated with sports after learning that it was even used by sportspersons,” said Rana, adding that they were also planning to produce shoes targeting sportspersons.
