The three-day volleyball tournament will be a national-level event while chess and mini marathon are district-level events. However, departmental teams and players belonging to departmental teams will not be given entry in the tournament. “We have decided to bar participation of departmental teams and players in the tournament because they have been dominant forces in volleyball winning all the titles of national volleyball. We wish to make the tournament a platform for other emerging teams and players,” said Shyam Sharma Bajagain, the treasurer of Lalitpur Sports Development Committee.

The winner and the runner-up of the tournament will bag purse of Rs 100,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively with trophies, medals and certificates. The two semifinalists will get Rs 25,000 each.
