KATHMANDU, Aug 3: Government promoted 11 Deputy Inspector Generals (DIG) of Nepal Police to the post of Additional Inspector General (AIG).

KATHMANDU, Aug 3: Government promoted 11 Deputy Inspector Generals (DIG) of Nepal Police to the post of Additional Inspector General (AIG).


The cabinet meeting on Thursday took the decision to promote DIGs Bam Bahadur Bhandari, Jaya Bahadur Chand, Devendra Subedi, Pashupati Upadhyay, Keshari Raj Ghimire, Madhav Prasad Joshi, Bijay Lal Kayastha, Kamal Singh Bam, Mingmar Lama, Rana Bahadur Chand and Bijay Kumar Bhatta.

Chand was promoted to IGP by the Pushpa Kamal Dahal led government but his appointment was annulled by the Supreme Court.


Cabinet on Thursday promoted Chand to AIG but left out DIG Nawaraj Silwal in the promotion list. Silwal had challenged the appointment of Chand at the court and has been still fighting legal battle over the appointment of Prakash Aryal as IGP.
