KATHMANDU, Feb 12: The government has appointed the chiefs of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF).
Cabinet on Sunday appointed Jaya Bahdaur Chand as the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

Similarly, Singh Bahadur Shrestha has been appointed as the Inspector General of Armed Police Force (APF).
Chand was chief of Narcotics Control Bureau. Chand had entered into police service on April 11, 1988 as an inspector. Chand, who served as district police chief in Kathmandu and Parsa, was promoted to Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) on December 19, 2011. He had also served as the chief of Far Western Regional Office of Nepal Police and Metropolitan Traffic Police Division.
He will retire from the position of IGP on March 18, 2018 because of 30 years of service limit.
