KATHMANDU, June 25: The government has announced to reduce the price of petroleum products by removing taxes levied on these products under various headings.
Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Dilendra Prasad Badu informed at a press conference on Saturday that the price of petroleum products has been reduced by removing the taxes.

With the new decision, petrol will now cost Rs 179 per liter and diesel and kerosene will cost Rs 163. According to Minister Badu, the tax has been reduced by Rs 29 on diesel and Rs 20 on petrol.
Along with the announcement of the government, Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) is announcing the new price of petroleum products effective from midnight today.
Earlier, a meeting of the ruling coalition held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar on Saturday morning had directed the government to adjust the price of petroleum products.
