Govt to table fundamental rights bills in parliament

KATHMANDU, Aug 8:  The government has decided to table before the federal parliament various bills under fundamental rights as per the new constitution.

KATHMANDU, Aug 8:  The government has decided to table before the federal parliament various bills under fundamental rights as per the new constitution. 


The cabinet meeting late Wednesday evening decided to table the Bills relating to Right to Housing, Right to social security and Protection of victims of crime, according to government spokesperson Gokul Prasad Baskota. Likewise, the government will table the Bill designed to amend the Racial discrimination and untouchability (crime and punishment) Act, 2068.

The cabinet has decided to promote Tirtha Raj Dhakal the acting Chief Secretary of province no. 5, the Joint-secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Ananda Raj Dhakal and Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Kedar Neupane to the post of special class in the civil service. 


Accordingly, Dhakal been deputed to province no. 5, Dhakal as the Chief Secretary of Province no. 3 and Neupane as the Chief Secretary of Province no. 1. 



Chief Secretary of Province 3, Rashmi Raj Pande, has been deputed at the OPMCM's office, while Ram Maya Kunwar has been promoted to the special class of auditing service. 


Similarly, Pokhara Lekhnath Municipality has merged into Pokhara Metropolis. 


The certificate and recommendations regarding ethnic community being provided by the National Dalit Commission would now be provided by the respective ward offices of the concerned offices of the rural municipality, municipality, sub metropolis and the Metropolis.
