KATHMANDU, Jan 17: The GP Foundation has drawn the attention of the government to correct its arbitrary decisions which, it claims, would result in the dissolution of the institutions named after former prime ministers Girija Prasad Koirala and Sushil Koirala.
Issuing a statement on Wednesday, the foundation asked the government to clarify its intentions after it made an arbitrary decision not to keep the GP Koirala National Center for Respiratory Diseases in Tanahun and Sushil Koirala Cancer Hospital in Banke under the purview of the federal government. The foundation has claimed that the arbitrary decision indicates the government's ill intention to dissolve those hospitals.

In the statement signed by the foundation's coordinators in all the seven provinces, the foundation has said it is against the ethics to dissolve the hospitals named after two prominent leaders who have contributed significantly to the nation-building process.
It has expressed dissatisfaction over the current government's failure to recognize the contributions of the national leaders.
