Gurvakot Municipality to provide allowance to helpless children

SURKHET, Jan 3: Gurvakot Municipality in Surkhet has made a decision to provide social security allowance to the orphans and disabled children who are deprived of parental love and various other privileges.

SURKHET, Jan 3: Gurvakot Municipality in Surkhet has made a decision to provide social security allowance to the orphans and disabled children who are deprived of parental love and various other privileges. 


As informed by the officials of the municipality, such children will receive Rs 500 each month. Hasta Pun, mayor of the municipality informed that the allowance will be distributed to the children who lack parental care and protection. "We have introduced this program with the objective of facilitating the poor, disabled and orphan children," said Pun, adding," We will not just rescue them but will also work for their reunion and also take care of their health and education."   According to him, the municipality will at first open an account for such children in local co-operatives and then deposit the allowance amount.

 Disabled children or those whose parents are unidentified will benefit from this allowance. Not just that, even the children who do not get proper support from their parents will be provided with this allowance. A committee has been formed to collect the details of such children who meet the criteria receive the allowance.
