High-level committee formed to identify, resolve problems of farmers in Madhesh Province

DHANUSHA, Feb 5: The Madhesh Province has formed a high-level committee to identify and resolve the problems facing the farmers in the province.


A cabinet meeting of the province held today formed a five-member high-level committee under coordination of Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Bijay Kumar Yadav.

Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment, Shatrudhan Mahato, Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, Bharat Prasad Sah, Finance Minister Shailendra Prasad Sah and Minister for Water Supply and Energy Development, Om Prakash Shraf, are members in the committee.


The committee has been entrusted with the responsibility to identity the problems in terms of fertilizer, irrigation, seeds, inundation, insurance, and also to develop further strategy, formulate land-use policy of Madhes Province, and review of activities carried out for agriculture improvement, said Spokesperson of Madhesh Province, Shailendra Sah.


The Committee has been asked to submit an interim report within 15 days and full report within a month, he added.
