Thousands of tourists visit Lomanthang, also known as the city of clay, the famed pilgrimage site of Muktinath, Kagbeni, Damorkunda and to witness the Tibetan culture. The visitors are also captivated by the unique landscape and terrain.

The visitors entering the district via Beni – Jomson on motorbikes are particularly high, according to hotel entrepreneurs. The arrival of domestic tourists after Dashain festival has surged, Mustang's tourism entrepreneur, Khagendra Tulachan said.

Even before the start of the Bada Dashain festival, 50 per cent of the hotel accommodations were already reserved in advance. The entrepreneurs shared that the tourists' flow would continue at the same rate until Tihar festival.

"There are a total of 150 hotels in operation from Lete area to upper Lomanthang, they are all full," Tulachan said, and declared "We are doing good business." RSS
