HoR passes 'Passport Bill'

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Today's meeting of the House of Representatives has unanimously passed the 'Passport Bill-2075'.

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Today's meeting of the House of Representatives has unanimously passed the 'Passport Bill-2075'. 



Minister for Home Affairs, Ram Bahadur Thapa, on the behalf of Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, presented the proposal seeking approval of the Bill. 



Earlier the meeting also unanimously passed the proposal of discussion on the Passport Bill-2075 along with report of the International Relations Committee. 



During the discussion, lawmaker Prem Suwal said that the Bill has not clearly mentioned about the arrangement of diplomatic passport. Similarly, lawmakers—Dev Prasad Gurung and Pabitra Niraula, also took part in the discussion. 



On the occasion, Home Minister Thapa said that a long discussion was held in the Committee regarding the bill designed to amend the passport bill. 



He further said that the Bill was brought to make timely changes in passport, saying 5.6 million passports have been issued so far. RSS
