KATHMANDU, May 30: The tourism entrepreneurs have praised the budget, saying that it was unveiled with due priority for tourism infrastructure development. They stressed the effective implementation of the budget.
They said that the budget was friendly for the tourism sector as it has given emphasis on airport construction, trekking route development and religious tourism promotion.
They, however, suggested that private partnership was required to further effectively promote tourism promotion.

Tourism entrepreneur Yogendra Shakya said that the budget was positive for tourism sector for it has given priority for mega infrastructure project and local development. The tourism industry would achieve progress provided that the budget was implemented effectively.
He said the expansion of country's only international airport and effective operation of the Nepal Airlines were laudatory.
Releasing the budget on Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara released nearly Rs 14 billion amount for the construction of the three international airports, Nijgadh International Airport, Gautam Buddha International Airport and Pokhara Regional International Regional Airport.
Chairman of Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) Chandra Rijal said that the budget brought targeting the mega projects would indirectly support the tourism industry.
Likewise, General Secretary of Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) Binayak Shah said that infrastructure development is the need of hour instead of the tourism promotion. Budget's orientation towards that point is positive, he added.
He also suggested for expedition of airport construction and promotion of new tourism destination. RSS
