Indian columnist De arrives in KTM to attend media and entrepreneurship convention

KATHMANDU, Nov 16: Renowned Indian columnist and novelist Shobhaa De has arrived in Kathmandu for Growthways, a media and entrepreneurship convention to be organized by Nepal Republic Media (NRM) in Kathmandu on Thursday.

KATHMANDU, Nov 16: Renowned Indian columnist and novelist Shobhaa De has arrived in Kathmandu for Growthways, a media and entrepreneurship convention to be organized by Nepal Republic Media (NRM) in Kathmandu on Thursday.


She was welcomed by the representatives of NRM following her arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

De is best known as Jackie Collins of India. She started her career with Zeenat Aman, made her name as a model then began a career in journalism in 1970. During the course of which she founded and edited three magazines- Stardust, Society, and Celebrity. Stardust magazine became popular under the editorship of De. At present, she is a freelance writer and columnist for several newspapers and magazines. She also runs weekly column for The Times of India and The Asian Age.


Suhrid Jyoti, Director of Jyoti Group will moderate the session with De.


Other speakers of the program are Shripad Kulkarni, Managing Director, Vizeum India “Dentsu Aegus Network”, Kartikeya Sharma, founder and promoter ITV Media Network and Anurag Batra, Chairman and Editor in Chief Business World.


The convention is presented by ZTE smartphone. Soaltee Crowne Plaza is the official hotel, Nagarik Daily and Republica Daily are the official print media partners and nagariknews.com and myrepublica.com are official online media partners of the convention.
