KATHMANDU, Nov 4: Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of lives and widespread damage caused by the recent earthquake in Nepal.


In his heartfelt message, he conveyed India's unwavering solidarity with the people of Nepal during this challenging time and affirmed India's readiness to provide any necessary assistance.

He wrote on his X profile, “Deeply saddened by loss of lives and damage due to the earthquake in Nepal. India stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal and is ready to extend all possible assistance. Our thoughts are with the bereaved families and we wish the injured a quick recovery.”


An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale occurred at 11:47 pm on Friday, with Ramidanda of Jajarkot as the epicenter. A total of 128 people lost their lives, and 141 people sustained injuries in the earthquake.
