CHITWAN, March 11: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Saturday has said Indian side should beg apology for the Kanchanpur incident in which Nepali citizen was killed in a fatal shooting by Indian security force.

Addressing the mass rally organised by UML at Narayangadh in Chitwan as part of its Mechi-Mahakali Drive, the former Prime Minister said family of the person killed in the incident should be compensated through talks between the two nations at central level instead of local level.

"Indian side should say sorry for the incident. Bordering area should not be encroached upon. India also should abide by the international law," he said.

On the Saptari incident wherein three cadres of the United Democratic Madhesi Front were killed in police firing on Monday, he accused the incumbent government of inciting violence there.

Also speaking on the occasion, UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal claimed that UML exercised restraint during the public gathering in Saptari. He also demanded fair investigation into the Saptari incident.

Nepal, also the former Prime Minister, said the government would have no moral ground to stay on power when it failed to hold the elections.

Also, UML standing committee member Surendra Pandey, member of the Central Disciplinary Commission Lalmani Chaudhary and UML Chitwan district in-charge Krishan Khanal also addressed the rally. RSS
