DOTI, August 5: Seven injured in a jeep accident that claimed lives of nine people have been brought to hospital after 14 hours.


The jeep accident had occurred at 10 pm Friday night. Police with the help of locals had taken the injured to Dipayal-based Sujang Hospital after rescue.

The condition of the two among those injured is critical. They are 50-year-old Harka Bahadur Gharti Magar and Dal Bahadur Pun Magar of Bogtan rural municipality-1. They have been taken to Nepalgunj for further treatment.


The injured could not be taken to the hospital on time due to measurable condition of road while the incident site is miles away from the district headquarters, said DSP Shiva Bahadaur Singh of District Police Office, Doti.


An ill-fated jeep, with registration no. Se 1 Ja 491 heading to Chawara Chautara from Dipayal met with the accident in Bogatan rural municipality-6 at 10 pm Friday night.


As many as nine people were killed in the accident. The deceased are Bishnu Bahadur Magar, 35, Budo Gharti Magar, 50, Gorakh Nath Thapa Magar, 45, Lalita Devi Pun Magar, 45, Shashi Ram Pun Magar, 48, Tek Bahadur Pun Magar, 40, Chandra Bahadur Gharti Magar, 30,  Bihm Bahadur Gharti Magar, 55 and driver Bishnu Negi, 28.
