KATHMANDU, June 21: Everest Khumbu Judo Dojo has come into operation in Chaurikharka 1 of Solukhumbu.
According to National Sports Council (NSC), the dojo was set up at the altitude of 2850 m under the initiation of Dharma Kumar Shrestha, the general secretary of Nepal Judo Association.

Yukata, the founder of Yukata Dojo in Japan, has gifted a mat set worth Rs 2.5 million for the dojo, according to Shrestha.
DHL transported the mat free of cost to Kathmandu and Buddha Air airlifted it to Kkumbu, also without charging fees.
Former international judo player Kaji Sherpa has been currently providing training to 19 judoka at the dojo.
