KATHMANDU, Dec 9: The Ministry of Education has appointed Executive Director at the Curriculum Development Centre, Mr Krishna Prasad Kapri as the pro-tem Managing Director of the Janak Education Materials Centre Limited.

Kapri has been appointed with the termination of the term of JEMC managing director Anil Kumar Jha on November 29.

Plan to upgrade JEMC into main govt press

Meanwhile, as per the business plan prepared by JEMC Board member Sneha Sayami, the Centre is to be upgraded and developed into the main press of the government.

The plan proposes making the centre well-equipped with modern printing technology and competitive human resources. It also envisages transforming the centre into the main government printing company and a training centre on printing.

Before this also, plans had been brought to turning the JEMC in to a security press but have not been implemented.

JEMC, a government entity, has been printing school textbooks, question papers and ballot papers.

The Centre owes Rs 700 million in loans to the government and it has asked for an additional loan of Rs 250 million with the government for purchasing paper for printing school textbooks. RSS
