CHITWAN, Feb 4: Yogendra Nath Karmacharya has been elected the president of Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs.
Karmacharya garnered 987 votes as against 708 votes polled by his nearest contender Dolnath Khanal to be elected the FNNTE president in an election held for the new working committee of the federation during the general convention here on Saturday. Karmacharya had the backing of the Nepali Congress while Khanal was supported by the leftist alliance.

Similarly, Bijaya Bahadur Swanr, Hari Sharan KC and Deepak Adhikari have been elected the three senior vice-presidents. Those elected vice-president include Pushpa Shrestha, Sanukaji Prajapati, Jit Bahadur Bharati, Ram Prasad Subedi, Ain Kumar Sai, Krishna Prasad Subedi and Prabhu Prasad Kalwar.
Yadav Lal Shrestha has been elected the president from among the goods carriers transport entrepreneurs.
Also elected are Punya Prasad Sitaula, Dek Nath Gautam and Rabi Rimal as the three general secretaries while Basanta Bhandari has been elected as deputy general secretary. Likewise, Nanda Lal Shrestha, Shambhu Prasad Rijal and Shekhar Nath Sitaula have been elected as secretaries.
Furthermore, Kiran Kumar Khadka has been elected the treasurer and Dambar Raj Panta the joint treasurer of the FNNTE.(RSS)
