Kathmandu: Balen Shah leading with 34,130 votes

KATHMANDU, May 21: Independent candidate Balen Shah is leading in the mayoral race for Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) with 34,130 votes in the ongoing vote counting. Shah’s closest rival Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML is trailing behind Shah with 18,547 votes.

KATHMANDU, May 21: Independent candidate Balen Shah is leading in the mayoral race for Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) with 34,130 votes in the ongoing vote counting. Shah’s closest rival Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML is trailing behind Shah with 18,547 votes.

Similarly, Nepali Congress (NC) mayoral candidate Sirjana Singh has received 18,429 votes while Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) chairman Madandas Shrestha has received 2,504 votes.


In the contest for the post of deputy mayor, CPN-UML’s Sunita Dangol has maintained her lead with 31,842 votes, while CPN (Unified Socialist) candidate Rameshwor Shrestha has received 10,979 votes. Likewise, RPP candidate Binita Magaiya has received 5,673 votes.
