KATHMANDU, Feb 7: The Kathmandu District Court has ordered to send four people including an immigration officer to judicial custody on charge of sending Nepali nationals on fake visit visas to different countries.

KATHMANDU, Feb 7: The Kathmandu District Court has ordered to send four people including an immigration officer to judicial custody on charge of sending Nepali nationals on fake visit visas to different countries.  


They are accused of illegally sending Nepali nationals on visit visas to various destinations through Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

A single bench of Judge Kapil Mani Gautam on Tuesday remanded Immigration Officers Narbir Khadka, Arun Dahal, Saroj Kumar Yadav and Manoj Tamang. The court has also demanded bail from six other individuals in the same case.


Geeta Shah is required to post a bail of Rs 500,000, Padam Lama Rs 100,000, Binod Karki Rs 200,000, Dinesh Gyawali Rs 700,000, and Ram Prasad Bhandari and Rabin Aryal Rs 100,000 each, according to the court order.


On February 1, the Office of the Attorney General filed a case against 22 individuals, including 12 who are in the fugitive list. Among them, nine immigration officers have been accused of their involvement in an organized crime related to human trafficking. They are accused of working as a part of an organized racket to send young people abroad on fake visit visas.


Immigration officer Khadka was arrested on December 4 on charges of being active in the racket of sending Nepali citizens abroad through visit visas by tampering with government documents.
