JAJARKOT, Jan 31: The upgradation of the Khalanga – Paanchkatiya stretch along the Jajarkot – Jumla road has resumed following an assurance of sufficient budget from a CPN (Maoist Centre) leader.

Former Home Minister, Shakti Bahadur Basnet, urged the contractor company to start working on the road assuring them that there will not be a lack of budget for construction. The government has arranged for additional budgets for dozens of road infrastructure projects in the district.

The Road Division had started the construction at a budget of Rs 19.8 million. The Mrit Sanjeevani Khadka Krishna JV Constructions has taken over the contract to construct the road and plans to reach the objective within two years.

The locals are elated with the resumption of construction along the 21 km road stretch. The government has already spent Rs 70 million for opening the track along the road. RSS
