KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Jazeera Airways, Kuwait's budget airline, is set to recommence commercial flights to and from Nepal following a seven-month hiatus. Hansraj Pandey, the chief of the Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA), confirmed that the airline has scheduled three weekly flights starting November as part of their winter schedule.

The decision to resume commercial flights has been made with the festive season and the needs of Nepali migrant workers in mind. According to Pandey, Jazeera Airways has planned flight operations from November to March, with minimal disruptions expected, barring adverse weather conditions. He emphasized that the implementation of the performance-based navigation system at the airport will facilitate smoother takeoffs and landings through international technology.

Currently, the airline conducts seven weekly flights from the Tribhuvan International Airport, with Society International serving as the official GSA for the airline in Nepal.
