LAMJUNG, Jan 5: The District Community Hospital is struggling to provide service to patients due to lack of medicines provided by the government for free.

At present, the stock has only a few of various 72 types of medicines provided by the government free of charge, said the hospital’s administrative chief Yubaraj Devkota.

Government’s failure to release budget this year to purchase the medicines has made the matter worse, he said.

“We were waiting for the budget to purchase the medicines. The stock is finished now, but the budget is yet to arrive,” he said.

He informed that the hospital development committee had taken initiatives to purchase the medicines by holding consultations with local bodies.
