Landslide-triggered disruption of motorway continues

GULMI, July 8: The Ridi-Rudrabeni-Wamitaxar road section which has been disrupted due to heavy rain since a week has not yet come into operation.

GULMI, July 8: The Ridi-Rudrabeni-Wamitaxar road section which has been disrupted due to heavy rain since a week has not yet come into operation. 


More than a dozen of landslides occurred after incessant rain in several parts of Turang, Johang, and Ashlewa VDCs on last Saturday had disrupted the road section.

Hundreds of vehicles including bus, goods-laden trucks, jeeps and tractors have been stranded on the road with the disruption of the road section. 


Though dozers have been used to clear the debris of landslide it has been difficult to do so due to continuous rainfall, said Engineer of Tamghas-Simlatari Road Project, Chandreswor Shah. He, however, hinted at the possibility of bringing the road back to operation till this evening. RSS
