Lawmaker contracts COVID-19

KATHMANDU, Sep 27: Umesh Shrestha, a member of the House of Representatives, has caught the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).


The Nepali Congress lawmaker, who is also a promoter of the Little Angels’ School, tested positive for the virus on Saturday. Posting a status on Facebook, Shrestha wrote that he had tested positive for the virus, and has been staying isolated at home.

“I request everyone who came in contact with me to stay cautious,” he wrote.


Shrestha represents the main opposition Nepali Congress  in parliament under the proportional representation category.
