CHITWAN, Nov 22: CPN-UML Chairman K P Oli claimed that no one can stop imposing communist rule in the country after the upcoming elections.
Addressing an election rally of the left alliance in Bharatpur on Tuesday, Oli urged the people not to worry about democracy even during communist rule in the country.
"Nepali Congress (NC) leaders are worried about the democracy. We will guarantee of protecting the democratic rights of the people," he said.
UML's alliance partner CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal also attended the poll campaign with his spouse Sita, daughter Renu and daughter-in-law Bina Magar despite the demise of his son Prakash on Sunday. Bereaved Dahal, however, didn't address the campaign at his constituency of Chitwan-3.
Claiming that the leftist government will pave way for stability and prosperity of the country, former prime minister Oli said that the UML and Maoists will rule the country for the next five years without any doubt.

"We have achieved this political strength through political struggles during which we faced torture, suppression and made sacrifices. So, how can democracy be under threat because of us as we too have arrived to this glorious moment through struggle," he said.
Stating that democracy is not something that NC can hand over to other parties on a tray, Oli accused the NC of risking democracy time and again in the past.
"We too have sacrificed a lot for democracy and fought for it in the past. Though other parties talk about democracy, they have betrayed it by gifting democracy to the palace in the past," Oli said, pointing out to the NC.
Oli further claimed that most of the NC leaders who fought for democracy in 1990 have joined UML. "I want to ask today's NC leaders how many of you were involved in the 1990 movement?" he asked.
He also came down heavily on the government for failing to arrange security with the increase in anti-poll activities.
"The prime minister removed the home minister from his duty and has not appointed another person to that post. Incidents of bomb explosions have been increasing but he claims that everything is okay. This tendency doesn't work," said Oli.
Expressing doubt on the government's intention of holding polls on the pretext of the recent security concerns, Oli said that election cannot be postponed at any cost.
CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Nepal expressed hope that people will choose the left parties in the upcoming election due to the NC's failure despite forming majority governments in the past. He further assured that the left parties can't go against the rights of the people and social justice.
Maoist senior leader Ram Bahadur Thapa said that the upcoming elections will decide whether to drive the country to socialism or retain the status quo yet again.
"The people must choose the left parties in the election for bringing socialism in the country," he added.
