Loan Shark victims and govt signs a five-point agreement

KATHMANDU, Sept 17: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and the Farm Workers Struggle Committee against loan sharks and fraud have reached five point agreements.


After the agreement, the struggle committee will suspend the protest program that has been held for more than a month and a half in Maitighar, Kathmandu.

Coordinator of the Loan Shark Crime Control Recommendations Task Force Joint Secretary Dr Bhishma Kumar Bhusal on behalf of the ministry and President Ramsurat Gupta on behalf of the Struggle Committee signed the agreement.


It has been agreed between the ministry and the committee to carry out the investigation of the assets of the loan shark family as per the recommendation of the Task Force and make necessary arrangements to provide relief and compensation to the families of the borrowers who died due to continuous mental harassment and violence of the lender.


Among other things, the two sides have agreed to make the creditors concerned to coordinate and make legal arrangements for the return of the land, regardless of the level of the sale.
